Situated on the site of an old disused farm, South Hill House was designed to meet strict planning conditions to be in keeping with the local area. An extensive barn conversion leading to a new underground swimming pool which linked to the new house, meant for a tough yet rewarding build. With the main superstructure of the house constructed from ICF (insulated concrete formwork), we had to quickly learn and adapt to this new building method.
Featuring an indoor pool and Jacuzzi set into the banks of the local countryside with panoramic views overlooking the village of Long Compton, this truly is a unique property. Supplemented with a steam room, a basement cinema and gym, as well as an outdoor kitchen and bar area, it’s a property that required astute project management in order to organise and complete all the specialist trades. Complex ventilation systems, heating systems and also a fire sprinkler system required careful management and liaison between the contractors.
